Los Angeles Looks

styleKat Crowley

Hi Hunnies,

I’m in Los Angeles for the week with my parents and my sister, Juj. We are staying at the most gorgeous compound, Rivergate House. (It used to be Bette Davis’s estate!!) It is located in Glendale right behind Griffith Park and was seriously so beautiful and relaxing. If you are looking for a vacation rental near LA, I highly recommend!! We were in Channing House, a 2 bedroom guest house on the property. There are 3-4 other rentals on the property with a shared garden and pool. Rivergate backs up to the LA Equestrian Center so there are even two horses in the back….. so CUTE. We loved the location, decor, and whole vibe.

I documented my looks day to day while on the trip… check them out with links to shop below!

Day 4

This was such a special day of our trip. We made our way south of Los Angeles to the Laguna Beach area. We met up with my sorority sister, Devon, who lives near by and it was such a joy to see her. We also drove by our old house and church, so it was super special. We wanted to see the beach at least once on the trip and Devon suggested Victoria Beach. It was so lovely. I wore a lightweight linen blazer (thrifted) with some high rise mom jeans (Pac Sun) and some super fun accessories. Outfit details below!

denim: pac sun | blazer: salvation army | bralette: true&co | earrings: h&M | sunglasses: forever 21 | shoes: shein | barettes: asos (SOLD OUT, SIMILAR LINKED BELOW) | BLACK BAG: SALVATION ARMY | BELT: SALVATION ARMY

Day 3

On our 3rd day we wandered Melrose and picked up some Urth Cafe. SO many people recommended going there and it was honest to God the worst latte I’ve ever had lol. I didn’t let that get me down though!! It was such a beautiful day. Temperatures were in the low 60’s so this lightweight silk top (thrifted) paired with a blazer was the perfect combo. If you’re on Melrose, stop into the Restoration Hardware. They have a rooftop garden with stunning views and that gorgeous wall of mirrors that are perfect for pictures!

denim: levis | top: thrifted from salvation army | blazer: thrifted from salvation army |flats: target | hat: lack of color | purse: topshop (similar linked below) | earrings: h&m | sunnies: forever 21 | belt: thrifted from salvation army

Day 2

We got soOOooOOooOo LA for our second day in California and went to the Warner Brother’s Studio Tour. It was honestly awesome! I’m an avid movie and tv watcher - so it was cool to see actual sets used for some of my favorite shows and movies. I highly recommend going, it’s worth the money. I opted for a comfortable and warm look (it was a cool low 60’s which i was loving by the way***). I’ve been wanting to get some cargo pants for awhile and Target had some for $28.00…… the price was definitely right! I was kind of feeling badass in this Kim Possible look. Shop this look below!

sunglasses: forever 21 | t-shirt: topshop | boots: wild fable by target | cargo pants: wild fable by target | denim jacket: urban outfitters (old, linked below) | bag: shein | belt: salvation army

Day 1

I wore this look out to dinner to Yamashiro Hollywood. It has the most stunning view of Los Angeles and delicious Japanese food. We caught up with our Los Angeles based cousins and had such a lovely evening! Outfit details are linked below. The cardigan is 70% off and has very limited stock so grab it while you can!! I’ll be posting better pictures of these shoes eventually… they are so so chic.

3 Ways: Styling a Faux Sherling Leather Jacket

styleKat Crowley

Hi Hunnies

So I’ve dipped my toes into some video action and I’m SO excited about it. Styling videos on IG have been very popular lately and I’ve been thinking about making my own for awhile but didn’t have the courage to go for it until my little sister, Juj told me to. I really love how the video turned out so I will definitely turn this into a series of some sort and keep it going!

I had just gotten this Amazon faux shearling jacket in the mail and knew I had to feature it on my blog. I found it through on Instagram. If you like shopping on Amazon and don’t follow her already, you need to. She shops exclusively on Amazon for clothes and posts them on her blog/ her amazon page. She really puts in WORK. So here are the things I like about this jacket: It’s super thick and warm, it’s very chic, it looks like it costs wayyyyy more than $60. Here are my downfalls: the belt loops are not sewn on well. A few have popped off (not a huge deal to me, as they are easy to sew back on). It took a little over two weeks to arrive, which isn’t terrible for shipping from China. It smelled literally AWFUL when I took it out of the bag, which really worried me. But, after one day the smell was gone. Thank goodness. Overall, I’m really happy with this coat! It’s extremely affordable for what it is and any other style I’ve found that is similar to this is at least $200.

Look 1

I saw this sweater dress at Target and had to have it. 1. I love stripes 2. I love midi dersses 3. This is my go-to color palette. I do get a little self conscious in this silhouette as my stomach is NOT flat, so I knew I was going to layer something over. You can easily throw a chunky pullover cardigan overtop, I opted for this fanny pack that is so flippin’ cute. It covered up my food baby nicely so props. I popped my new favorite Amazon jacket on top I paired with my favorite white booties to finish this look. If you want to dress down, throw on some white sneakers! I would wear this on a date or out to dinner with my girlfriends.

Look 2

This animal print dress was another piece I saw in the Who What Wear section at Target and had to have. Target is seriously killing them game. It has adorable tie detailing at the neck, is very on trend in print, and is completely opaque. For under $35 it’s seriously a steal. I paired with some polka dot tights, old Zara booties, and my favorite triangular sunglasses from Shein. Adding the shearling coat on top was the final touch to bring a little edge back to the flirty look. I would def wear this on date night or to a party (like I go to those lol).

Look 3

My last look is one that is seriously a GO-TO. When in doubt. Put on your Levi’s, a turtleneck, and some boots and you look put together and effortless. I promise. I added the fanny pack in the vid as a cross body but honestly if I was wearing this look out I would go with a hand bag. The Amazon jacket completed the look and will keep you plenty warm this winter!

Favorite Who What Wear Collection Dress- Fall

styleKat Crowley

Hi Hunnies,

It’s Kat and welcome back to my blog! lol. So last week Adam invited ME to go to Target with him. It was so cute. He was like, “Hunnie, would you maybe want to go to Target with me”? I’m not sure if I ever loved him more than in that moment. I actively try to avoid Target for my bank account’s sake, but if Adam wants to go, I’M IN. We went in with a clear plan: get Adam some Magic cards (nerd alert) and mouthwash. Spoiler alert: I didn’t follow this plan once I stepped into the holy land.

I immediately b-lined it to the Who What Wear Collection section. Also real quick, side note, I absolutely love the complete overhaul Target has done to their visual merchandising. It’s so good. Anyhoo, I found a rack of black and white midi length dresses and immediately became SAD because I wanted them all. One of my favorite dresses of literally all time is Who What Wear from last fall, blog post on it here. The dresses I found (and the one I’m wearing in the photos below) is an updated version of that dress. I love them all so much because 1. black and white is so classic 2. since it’s midi, it’s appropriate to wear to family holidays, work, church, etc 3. can be styled in many different ways 4. great for layering!! I love to throw a blazer, chunky cardigan, or pullover sweater over.

How to Style

Here I paired this long sleeve midi with a Unique 21 blazer that I belted at the waist. I LOVE to belt things. I will literally throw a belt on anything. I just love a cinched waist, ok!?! I had just scooped these Shein mules because I’ll never have enough mules and the heel on them is SO COOL and different. You can easily pair some suede over the knee boots (linked my favorite pair below) with this length of dress for all you ladies living in cold temperatures. I also love the idea of wearing a sheer black stocking with some heeled ankle boots (also linked an option below). If you’re going to be scooting around work and don’t want to mess with a heel, a pointed black flat would look tres chic. For accessories, I paired a black beret with this look. A wide brim hat would also look bomb! Any bag you want to wear would go well. I recommend a bucket bag or a little leather waist fanny if you’re feeling trendy.

I hope you enjoyed, shop everything I mentioned below!!

Orange Dress, Snakeskin Heels, and a Lack of Color Hat in Texas

styleKat Crowley

Hi Hunnies!!

I just touched down back in Michigan from a quick trip to my parent’s in Texas. They bought land with an amazing view and I of course had to take some photos. I scooped this rusty orange dress from Target and it is the perfect wrap dress for fall and work. I styled some AMAZING booties from ASOS but will definitely put some knee high boots under it when I wear next. Layering a turtleneck under this dress would also be so fab and chic. I picked up some necklaces to layer from Forever 21 that way more upscale than the $5.90 I paid (spoiler, they aren’t great quality and rubbed green on my neck after wearing all day). BUT they are under $6.00 each, so what can you expect? Finally, I’ve been saving up for months for a Lack of Color hat and I cried tears of joy when it arrived in the mail. It’s definitely pricey, but WORTH IT. All the direct links to shop are below!
