Go-To Denim

styleKat Crowley

Hi Hunnies,

Today’s post is all about my current favorite denim. Watch the video above to see how I style them and for a better idea of fit. I’m really enjoying making videos like this so let me know if you think they are helpful! All outfit details are linked as well as multiple options for each denim style. Happy reading!

look 1

Topshop Straight Leg Jeans $75 -$80

I absolutely love this pair of denim. They are a high rise, straight leg, cropped jean. I wrote a post all about them here. They will make your butt look BOMB, I promise. In the winter, you can style with a sock boot (like I did here) so your ankles won’t freeze off. In the summer they look so chic paired with a pointed pump. I linked my exact pair as well as others that are so ca-yute below! Also, side note, my leather jacket was thrifted for $40 ($800 new omg) but I linked the gold hardware version below as well as others that won’t assault your bank account.

Look 2

Topshop Jamie Jeans $75

My all time favorite skinny jeans. They are a mid-high rise cropped skinny jean. I’m wearing a size 26 x 30 and am petite and they still fit cropped. I have these in so many different washes and have been wearing this style since 2015. They hold up amazingly well wash after wash, so definitely worth the price tag. This look is my typical work outfit (minus the tittie tee lol). These are the perfect jean to wear with a over the knee boot (wearing my favorite Goodnight Macaroon pair) or with a bootie or mule. I’ve linked my exact blazer, boot, and jean below. My tee is sold out but I linked a few other tees that are adorable.

Look 3

Levi’s 501 Skinny $98

I’ve had these jeans for about a year and absolutely love them. They are a mid-high rise jean with a vintage fit. They have no stretch to them so they feel like a real pair of denim. I sized down to a 25 x 30 for a more snug fit but I would say typically people actually size up in these. I want the black wash of these so bad.The sweater I’m wearing is thrifted but I linked some other color blocked options below as well as 9 pairs of Levi’s 501 Skinnys. These tend to be out of stock often so I linked 3 separate retailers that carry them so you can find your size/ wash.

Target Wild Fable Mom Jean $22-$25

I have the black distressed version below and really love them! Wearing here. I haven’t had them very long to speak to how they wear over time but they are so affordable, even if they only last a year I think they are worth it. I’m wearing a size 2.

H&M Divided Super Skinny $19.99

For $19.99, these jeans ROCK. I first bought a pair in college and wore them for years and years (until my booty got too big to wear that pair lol). They hold up tremendously. Sizing runs small (as all H&M stuff does) so I go between a 4-6 in these. Definitely worth a try!

Hi Hunnies,

The holidays are upon us and that means LOTS of parties, gatherings, and celebrations. I have been trying to figure out my outfits for the holiday season in the past few days, and thought I would share some of the items I have found while browsing literally thousands of articles of clothing online. What kind of holiday festivities are y’all up to in the next few weeks?? (Actually though, I’m curious what everyone is up to!! Leave a comment! I don’t think anyone has ever commented on one of these… so that could be fun!! lol)

We went to Chicago last weekend to visit some of my favorites hunnies and go on the TBOX Ugly Sweater bar crawl. It was such a good time and deg got me in the holiday spirit. While we were in the city I was feeling so festive and shot this look with this STUNNING asos dress. I would totally wear this look to a Christmas party (a fancy party I guess? IDK I don’t go to those but wish I did). I got a little pattern crazy and paired the plaid ASOS dress with Target “A New Day” polka dot tights and my dusty trusty faux snake ASOS boots. I finished off the look with a H&M headband and some sparkly earrings.

Here’s the scoop: The material on the dress was just a bit thinner than I expected, but I think for such a cool design it’s worth the $61 price tag. I was just looking at the Target tights on, and they had HORRIBLE reviews. Everyone said they ripped as soon as they put them on. Mine went on okay in Chicago and I wore them to work today and no rips! So maybe you just have to be gentle with them? The boots are my all time favorite, but are sold out on ASOS. I’ve linked some similar options below. I’ve been wanting to get a headband with a knot on top for awhile now and had my eye on this Scuncii by Sincerely Jules one but they never had it in stock at my local Target. I decided on snagging this H&M one when I was in there last week and love it!! It’s so cute easy to throw on. When you have a headband on people just assume you have your s h i t together.

Scroll to the bottom to see all of my style picks for any holiday gathering you may be attending this season. Whether it be an office party, family gathering, NYE, or a night out, I gotchu. Everything is under $70 bc I know we all be ballin’ on a budget. Happy shopping!

Hey Hunnies!

Alright I'm a little late to the game but I just received my 'Marlo' Tan Over The Knee Suede Leather boots from Goodnight Macaroon. I've seen these all over Instagram and heard amazing things about the quality, the fit, and the company. I'm SO glad I purchased them. A little out of my price range, so they were a special purchase for me but so far they have been worth it. My calves are tiny so I'm usually swimming in boots but these fit snug and have a little stretch to them. There is a zipper from the heel through the calf that makes them super easy to slide on and off (Which was my biggest complaint about the Kaitlyn Pan boots I reviewed a few months ago. Read about those HERE).

This is the first item I've purchased from Goodnight Macaroon and had a pretty good experience! They often have discount codes for the entire site, so I actually got these for 25% off. Their other clothing items start at about $50.00 and go up from there. I was surprised though when my boots took 3 1/2 weeks to get here, which is my only complaint!

I styled them here with a gorgeous long sleeve A-line dress and black leather jacket but you can pair them with skinny jeans, a mini skirt, a midi skirt, the options are endless! I wore them the same weekend with my all time favorite midi dress (outfit post coming soon!!). Thanks for stopping by friends!!

Week of Thrifting: accessories

Kat CrowleyComment

Hi Hunnies!

There is nothing new about style, it is always a trend from years past that has come back around. That is why thrifting is the absolute best.  I shot a few looks on how you can style second hand items to breathe new life into them.  In today's look I focused on accessories. I picked up this baker boy hat for $3.00 and it looks almost identical a black one from H&M.   Black belts with gold or silver hardware are an amazing staple to have in your closet to pair with high waisted jeans  or cinch a flowy dress at the waist. We've all seen the black and gold Gucci belt that it seems every blogger has. I achieved a similar look with this one I  snagged a few months back for $2.00. And how cool is that chain detail? Anyway,  I thought I'd share a few tips and tricks on where I go to thrift/ how I sort through thousands of items.

1. Shop at smaller local thrift stores

Smaller local thrift stores are my favorite places to thrift.  Although you can find gems at big thrift stores like Salvation Army and Volunteers of America, I often get overwhelmed by the sheer volume of items they have. I've found at a smaller store, they tend to carry items that are actually years old instead of a Charlotte Russe top that was thrown into a giveaway pile.

2. Don't forget about the accessories

I rarely have the the patience to sort through the racks and racks of clothes, so for the most part I narrow my search to accessories. The majority of the bags and belts in my closet came from thrift stores. In this look alone, my hat, earrings, bag, and belt were all thrifted!! Also, I've found the cutest handkerchief scarves at thrift stores.

3. Go in with a plan

If you want to hit up the bigger thrift stores, enter with a plan.  At Salvation I check out the bags, belts, sweaters, denim, and blouses. I occasionally check out skirts, dresses, and men's t-shirts. Because everything is organized by color, I only go to sections of colors I typically wear. This cuts the selection at least by half.  Also, keep in mind items you have been wanting to purchase. For example, I live and die by my black turtleneck and have been wanting some other colors. While I was at SA the other day I came across a brownish orange color perfect for my neutral collection. And it was only 99 cents. Like, come on!! You can’t beat that.

More thrifting posts coming this week :) Thanks for stopping by friends!!!
