Although temperatures are still in the 80’s here in Michigan, fall is right around the corner and I’ve noticed some serious trends popping up, specifically with skirts! You may be like, “Kat, temperatures are dropping, why would these be a fall trend?” BUT I absolutely love wearing skirts in fall in winter. They are a great transition piece in that you can wear them with you bare legs when the temperatures are still 60 and up or layer them with tights and some thigh high boots as the temp drops. Here are some styles you definitely need to add to your fall wardrobe. As always, everything is budget friendly (under $60!).
In the ‘fit above, I styled my plaid mini with white blouse, thigh high boots, a Chloe inspired bag, and some oversized sunglasses. Unfortunately, I got my skirt in store and can’t find it online! But, never fear! This style of skirt is literally all over the place. If you search “plaid mini” in the search bar of your favorite online shop, I PROMISE some options will pop up. I’ve linked some favorites I’ve found below. You can also style this with a chunky knit sweater or a graphic tee!
Although a pencil skirt isn’t technically a “trend” it is something I’ve been yearnign to add to my closet this season. From the options I’ve linked below it seems I’m leaning toward leather and denim for the fall. Pencil skirts can be styled for work with some pointy flats and a turtleneck or a night out with a chunky heel and a little crop.
Honestly, if you are going to add 1 skirt to your closet for autumn, I suggest a flowy, silky midi skirt. They are so gorgeous! I’ve invested in one myself (see here). I suggest styling with either your favorite graphic tee tucked in or an oversized knit.
